Typically captions can be placed anywhere on the screen in order to be compliant with accessibility for the hearing impaired and also universally accessible for those not needing the accommodation without obscuring important visual features for both. The problem is that I've got info-graphics at the bottom of the page (I can't really position them anywhere else because the focus of the frame is a close-up of a person speaking), and the captions then obscure the graphic.
